NatureBox Snacks
« on: May 03, 2014, 09:44:05 AM »
OK, I KNOW these are not the most nutritious things out there and that the "nature" part is just marketing.  That said, we order these occasionally to bring on vacation or camping trips, for the kids.  It occurred to me the other day, that they would be handy to keep in a vehicle, or ready to throw in the car at a moment's notice.  A big plus is that they come in a sturdy cardboard box.  Yes, they are relatively expensive and there are better ways to preserve food.  BUT, if you need a kick-start to your preps while putting more stuff up the right way, I think they fill a niche.  They are pretty tasty, too.  The link below is for the web site (no affiliate links or crap like that, just a link to their web page)

My all-time favorite snack (to buy) is fruit leather from Stretch Island Fruit.  They are locally made and guaranteed non GMO.  I buy them at Costco in a multy-pack (all 7 flavors in one box).

For a granola bar I like the Kashi Chewy Trail Mix Granola Bars.  Also guaranteed non GMO.

Other snack items you'll always find in my pack are elk or deer jerky and a mix of nuts.

I used to give Stretch Island fruit to the kids; forgot all about them!  Thanks for the reminder!
