I don't think it has cleared up. :( Avast (my anti-virus) just popped up the following blocked malware attempt.

URL:   http://tahfifak.ru/count17.php
Process:   C:\Users\Alterios\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome.exe
Infection:   URL:Mal

I got this when I tried to go to http://cd3wd.com/data/index.htm
Again, if you're super-interested, I already have the ISOs... got them last year. I can burn them to DVDs and send them to you. PM if interested.

Since the thread has been brought back to life, here is another web location with tons of data.  It has scanned books, .pdf's, copies of web pages, magazine articles, forum threads; lots of stuff:

http://www.pssurvival.com/

Some of it is very useful, some of it has minor value. I found it to be well worth the download time to be able to browse through some of the subjects.

Excellent post CopperKnight!

Alterios, no need to apologizing for resurrecting old posts. Unlike some forums, we highly encourage it if it adds something to the topic and you definitely did. It appears some changes have been made to the website (cd3wd.com) and a lot of the former links are no longer valid.  You can still access the material though via the link below.

http://cd3wd.com/data/index.htm

However, according to the statement posted below from that same URL (http://cd3wd.com/data/index.htm), they just don't offer CD downloads. Instead, you have to download it in smaller pieces. They do encourage others to spread the info as well so, if AngusBangus wants to host them on his site, they will be fine with it. They will even link to it if he wants to let them.

See below, especially the part I bolded.

Quote
Note that our website http://cd3wd.com/data/ will be used only for microdownloads and for browsing. Microdownloads can be of one, several, many or even all pdf and/or zip files, and can best be done by using Free Download Manager, which is downloadable from the web. We will produce and provide .csv and text files to assist in that process. Microdownloads are the only feasible download method for almost all Third World locations, where downloading 4.33 GB chunks is and will remain a dream for many years to come. Note that the DVD Player titles jpg files are offered for microdownload in zip files - one zip file per title - with average size about 20 MB (400 pages). We no longer offer direct downloads of disks nor do we ourselves organise torrent downloads (but others are welcome to organise and host torrents using our material). But do not worry - you can download everything or as much as you want using microdownloads with Free Download Manager as immediately above. We encourage friends of cd3wd to do microdownloads and then to re-upload to their own websites and host parts of or even the complete cd3wd in parallel to ourselves. We will provide links to all these parallel sites. This creates a more sustainable model and keeps our data traffic allocation from exceeding our monthly limit (which then costs us money. which we do not have). If you do not already have a website, we would recommend Brinkster Web Hosting, who very kindly give us their $36/month package for free. Their US$ 6.99/month package is particularly good value, giving 200 Gb space and 2000 GB per month web traffic.

Thanks for the prompting, Roswell... I'll do a blog post and provide links to them. I'll keep it up if I can support the traffic, which I suspect I will be able to do given my infrequent posting. I'll report back here with a link to my site once that's done. I'll aim for one night this week.

I'm getting a statement saying a log in is required.  Is this information somewhere else now?

Thanks!

Keep checking back. Apparently they got hacked. If you do a google search for "cd3wd" someone changed the site name to "#saveGaza" and locked everyone out - hacked by blah blah blah (Someone claiming to be an anti-Israel, Muslim)

 :wtf:

Weird.

Is this the same stuff?  If so, it's another way to get to it...

It is the same stuff, but I don't think it is complete. That site says the version is from 2006. Still a pretty large chunk of it.

I did find a torrent mirror site that looks up to date.  You may want to pick and choose unless you have a spare Terabyte of data or so...  :o

If you don't have a torrent downloader, try uTorrent for free. That's what I use and I've never had issues.  http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/win

CD3WD on my hosting account.

I'm still compressing the files into 7-zip formats to drop the filesize to 3.7GB and uploading. Perhaps when you read this they will all be there.

All 7 disks are now available in 7z format on my website
CD3WD

If you don't have it, 7-zip is a free open source compression/extraction utility that compresses more effectively than ZIP protocol.

No problem. It's quite a bit of info, some seemingly repetitious, but there are some good articles in the collection.

Thanks Angus.

I'm working on downloading this from work where I don't have a data limit.
