Looks interesting, SCW.  Thanks for the link.  I'll give it a whirl.

After listening to the hundreds of requests for directions to a local Ham Fest with only seconds between call ins....I think LISTENING is a long lost art or skill. People gain little information when their mouths are open.

This has inspired me to program my old Uniden BCT8 and start up an online feed.
https://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/27342

Also, late last night a local sheriff's deputy was shot and killed when responding to a home invasion burglary.  I was alerted to this not by scanning police dispatch (I currently lack digital trunking capability), but from local TV news van and helicopter radio traffic.  The TV news crews are much more chatty than cops, gave some color commentary about where to position cameras for their broadcast, and other details about the scene.

let me know how it goes, I'm interested in doing something similar here in town with the local Ham Repeater Feeds.

Will do.  I'm following these instructions:

https://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Raspberry_Pi_Broadcastify_Build#Method_1:_Darkice_Install_and_Configuration_.28Recommended.29

Also, when you apply to broadcast a feed they ask that you certify the feed is public safety, amateur radio, or otherwise not commercial.

It's up:

This is a small city airport, with mostly single engine planes.  Not very busy, but it was an easy project and got me tinkering with linux again.
