Title: NOLS National Outdoor Leadership School
Post by: benjaminbrasel on April 25, 2010, 01:59:25 PM
I was just wondering if anyone has attended a NOLS course. I am an Alaska NOLS grad, and I believe that this school is an amazing opportunity.  I have always been an avid outdoors-man but living out of a tent for three month pushes your experiences and skills to a new level.

Check out the beautiful course catalog.  It always gets me pumped and ready for my next adventure.

I did one in the Wind River Range. Amazing confidence building experience.

I did the 3 week whitewater trip on the Green River in UT/CO.  We did Desolation, Grey, and Ladore Canyons, and I'd do it again.  It was a great opportunity to learn hard skills for boating.

Are there anything that you can tell me from the school?  I want to be more of a leader both in the field and in my family.  What kind of leadership skills did they teach you?

NOLS Yukon Outdoor Educator course july 2001 to august 2001. Great experience and one I will NEVER forget.  I hope my son will have the interest to do a NOLS course someday.
