Post by: Darkwinter on November 09, 2010, 08:45:34 PM
I am looking for a pattern for a nice set of potholders for a certain special someone this Christmas.

You are probably going to think I nutty, but my absolute favorite type of potholders are the kind made on looms made from loops. You can get the looms and loops at craft stores, I think. They used to always have them at Ben Franklins (if that store is in your area).

I kept buying looms and loops for young relatives, hoping they would give me potholders, and finally gave up and started making my own. They are what I use all the time. The heavy duty cotton loops yield strong, thick, washable potholders that will last for years.

Wow.
That just brought back some memories. I remember making those when I was a kid way back when. I think I even made some for grandmothers too for x-mas presents.

Yeah.  But your response was precious, and makes me wish I had a loom and some cotton.  :)

(ps - i'm not bitter.  I'm sweet.  Really.)
