Title: Calling customer service (avoiding the wait)
Post by: Kilgor on January 21, 2011, 12:58:21 PM
A tip for my fellow TSPers.  Clark Howard turned me on to a website ( www.gethuman.com (http://www.gethuman.com) ) where you can find phone numbers for most companies that lets you get straight through to a person rather than waiting on hold to speak to someone.  It has worked great for me and has been a real time saver.

Many years ago our newspaper ran an article with a list of numbers just like the website. I had cut it out and saved it and recently found it again and used it to call into my verizon account... worked great I was with someone in about a minute. Saved the site thanks!

That's a good site, Kilgor. Thanks!

I've tried both the "Agent, Agent" method and hitting "0" when on the phone with a few companies. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Hopefully people can use this resource to get around to a real live person more quickly.

+1
