Plan to keep my water bottle with me at all times, will it filter this?

A gene that makes bugs highly resistant to almost all known antibiotics has been found in bacteria in water supplies in New Delhi used by local people for drinking, washing and cooking, scientists said on Thursday.

I'd suspect it will because bacteria are huge compared to viruses, but that's only a fraction of the problem.  The water that salad you have before dinner is being washed in the same water, the dishes are being washed with the same water, and it only took one accidental dropping of our water filter into the stream in 1987 for me to get giardia.

You'll have lots of vectors for illness there, so be proactive with probiotics and make sure you have effective treatment just in case.
