The American Red Cross offers a wide array of education, knowledge, classes and certificates on emergency preparedness. I will be re-taking the 1st Aid/CPR and then the Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course. Classes in my area start soon. Pre-registration and payment is required. Wanna join me?

Anyone out there in the Truckee Meadows, High Desert of Norther Nevada or Eastern Central Sierra Nevada Region want to take the classes with me? They start soon be there is still room. We can have both the 1st Aid and the Wilderness 1st Aid done by February 4th, 2012.

Check for courses and availability here:

For those not near any scheduled classes, many of the ARC course materials can be downloaded for free.  Not the same as getting hands-on instruction, but might be a good resource to add to your digital library.

Just search for classes, then look for the download link on the right side.  The one on Preparing for Emergencies looks particularly detailed.
