My pleasure, we paid for the time that created it, might as well share it around.

That's really useful!

The hand sanitizer and masks I'd already got, but a lot of the other stuff I need to get more of specifically because of the flu... :-[

Here is the link to a pamphlet on Pandemic Flu. I ordered and received 40 copies of the pamphlet to pass out @ work, family, friends, and in my neighborhood.

If you want some of the pamphlets, let me know.

Thanks for the link.
I don't think people give enough attention to the possibilty of a pandemic threat.

My CERT class said that the CDC expects a pandemic to break out before the next big California quake. So within 30 years... Seems like a long time.... But could be next week.

That is a fairly decent list. Thanks Archer!

Also, this is kind of along the same lines but it's pretty interesting nonetheless.

Zombies in World of Warcraft (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,444505,00.html#)

Studies have actually be done on this regarding how people virtually react to zombies and how the zombie plague would theoretically spread in the real world. I am a geek so this is right up my alley. :)

I like simulations like this, see just how fast a virulent virus would spread. But I'm glad I don't play WoW.  I've got friends who are addicted to it...

I thought the simulation might be interesting. And I've got friends that play as well, and they have been playing for year! Years!?! Now, I like to play games and all, but years?!?!

There have been several WAR GAME type simulations in regards to biologicals
DARK WINTER was a biological attack simulation done in 2001 using small pox
TOPP OFF1 was a plague simulation done in 2000
TOPP OFF2 was done in 2003 and involved a radiological and a biological attack

Most university have pandemic plans in place and have run simulations on their effectiveness.

In all of these scenarios, the news was bad.  If you think the response to Katrina was slow, it would pale in comparison to an epidemic like smallpox, or pandemic flu.  Everyone has said there will be no vaccines, no help, no services.  Everything would have to happen on a local level.

Biological agents are my biggest fear, and this is no tin foil hat thing. Sorry to ramble on by this stuff really freaks me out.

Exactly where can we order the pamphlets?  I'd like to pass some to friends and family.

I am going to take time next week to ask my hospital what plans they have in place if this becomes a problem here in America. If I find out anything of value I will post here.

the BEST thing is to not catch it to begin w/by washing hands, good hygiene etc...
but has anyone tried Sambucol??  We are going to get some, b/c there's not enough tamiflu for everyone and it is good for other viruses, not just the flu

My wife asked today if we still had our respirators, and of course I just had to  ;D

I purchased a couple Full face P100 two years ago and use them when applying pesticides or melting lead

Here is a link to an article I wrote for all of us planning to utilize respirators during the pandemic flu.
