Title: New cannon on the way (338 Win Mag)
Post by: 16onRockandRoll on October 01, 2015, 08:39:44 PM
So I got a deal I couldn't refuse for a Remington 700 in 338 Win Mag.  I passed on it for a long time because I have a 300 WM, and, while different, there isn't much the 338 can do that the 300 can't.  But it was literally too good to pass up.  So on looking up reloading recipes, I see it actually does very well with the heavier bullets, even somewhat approaching Lapua velocities which surprised me.

Any recipes?  I love reloading for rifles, and I am sure I will enjoy working up a load for this, but I thought I would see if anyone had any experience with it to pass on.  Especially lead free bullet experience, even though CA doesn't have much that requires that much power, I want to have a go to LF load for all of my hunting rifles.
