I wonder if he would have had a different opinion if he had lived long enough to see the attack on Pearl Harbor?

Or would his advice have been to surrender to the Japanese in order to prevent some "Lord of Industry" from making a profit.

Sometimes wars are not about a profit and loss forms or a conspiracy of capitalists. 

Sometimes they are simply about stopping evil.

He wrote quite a bit about the military "games" the US was playing in the Pacific to antagonize the Japanese into war so...

As far as fighting WWII to defeat evil, you'll find quite a few Americans made money selling goods to the Nazis (Germany not having oil or steel) despite the war. Prescott Bush comes to mind.
