Title: Where do I start?
Post by: SuperUltraJulie on May 20, 2009, 10:33:23 AM
I would like to learn basic survival skills. Where do I start? Can I go to a class / camp?

A little about my background: I have medical training from the US Navy - I was a Hospital corpsman for 8 years.

Wellllll... If you're navy, then you've already got some survival skills that will be useful to you.  However, you might want to TRY to get into Dirt Time, which is a sort of survival-fest camping trip (week long) in August in California.  It might already be full, but check it out just in case.  There are going to be 14 or 15 instructors there, including our own Jack Spirko.  :)

This is the dirt time website (http://www.dirttime.com/).
