Title: Papijoe's Garden 2017
Post by: Papijoe on May 07, 2017, 07:00:38 PM
First time planting on the new Virginia homestead

With the hardpacked clay in the sunniest back lot I went with beds and mini-hugels for the trellised vegetables

Romaine lettuce and kale in the smaller bed, peppers and Roma tomatoes in the big bed.

I've got snap peas, beans, watermelons, zucchini, cucumbers and cilantro in the trellised mounds

I've added eggplant and cherry tomatoes to the big bed since the picture was taken

Good stuff Papi!  Looks like you have quite the drainage issue there.

Yes the clay is brutal which is why I double dug the second larger. Ed

I'm sheet mulching around it for next years beds
