Title: ground squirrels vs tree squirrels
Post by: CandyBabyE on September 08, 2009, 09:09:29 PM
I'm a new listener and really enjoyed the squirrel hunting episode.  I have 17 acres in Southern People's Republic of California with lots of ground squirrels. We've been hunting them just because they're so destructive with their digging and gnawing of hoses and water lines. Till now I've always left them for the coyotes, bobcat or mountain lions, who ever showed up to eat the bodies, but if they can be used for stew or such I'm game.  Has any one had experience cooking ground squirrels as opposed to tree squirrels?  Thanks. Great podcast.  Candy

   Hi Candy,
They are called varmints for a reason. I would have to be damn hungry before I would eat one, but they are great for honing your shooting skills  ;D
