Well first off I will introduce myself I am a General class Ham, a CERT instructor, Run with the Fire Dept, Ambulance, Rescue Unit, and Haz-Mat group. I am interested in emergency comms have a few of the CERT people that have gotten Amateur license's, but most will use CB or FRS or GMRS. As such I will have to monitor many frequencies.  have a scanner programed for the call frequencies. But the problem comes when there is a Emergency I will have to go to respond with fire etc. . I have a back up person who also is a ham and also has a scanner we check in to a local emergency net twice a month on the first and third Mondays.  The local attendance is growing and awareness is also. I am pleased that this small community is coming together for the local good and preparedness. We are mostly new to the preparedness thing but learning as we go hope to learn from the forum.
