FYI, Salem Hospital ET backed up. 110 patients waiting in the ER waiting.  - had more overnight.  Flu bug and several nurses out sick.  Lots of transfers out to other hosp.  (Salem Hosp ED is  on the the busiest ER's if not the busiest in the state.)

Mr. Bill,

Thank you!  My family still lives in Oregon even though we moved to Florida.  Your mailing list seems pretty fast.  Any way I might be able to get on it as well?  <fingers crossed>

Yeah, I don't think it's a secret list or anything.  Here you go:

Yahoo Groups is a rather antique part of the Internet, but it's still useful for a few things.  I suspect a lot of this sort of interaction has moved to Facebook nowadays, but I haven't checked.

No worries Mr. Bill.  Our local preparedness group is also on Yahoo Groups.  I permanently deleted my Facebook page a couple years back.  Thank you for the link!

Moved thread and changed title -- looks like a LOT of hospitals are overloaded!

It's not just the flu, there's also Norovirus going around the schools, too.  My wife's phone has been ringing every morning with her agency looking for help (she's an ICU nurse).  While she mostly works Trauma/Neuro ICU, the demands are impacting all the hospitals.

I've also been told that there's a lot of pink eye cases in Texas now.

I'd imagine if the current trend continues there's going to be a lot of cases of "black eye" in D.C.
