Peroxides are bad juju.  You can't simply starve the fire of oxygen because it has its own oxygen in abundance.  Organic peroxides burn with incredible heat and intensity since it is it's own fuel and oxygen source.  Very volatile stuff.

Update:
- Mandatory evacuations ordered, at least 10 hospitalized after massive explosion at gas plant in Santa Paula
- County HazMat just arrived on scene. Took 40-60 minutes for them to arrive
- The explosion occurred about 3:46 a.m, so took 6 hours for HazMat to show up?

Looks like it might be flaring up again. Rather worried about those pressure vessels in the lower right of the video.

Wow, I just can't understand why that engine would ever be that close to an incident.  Crazy.  They shouldn't be within 150' of even a small hazmat incident.

With a mile and a half evacuation radius they are worried about more than fire or explosions.  I will bet there is a liquid chlorine tank nearby that they have not secured.  Very common at water treatment plants and very deadly if it vaporizes.
