Another bit of portable software is RADIO SHURE a software streaming radio that has over 30,000 stations available, though you must have internet to use it.

Download version 2.2 and install it as PORTABLE...then you can copy it to most anywhere ...I give it to friends on a burned CD as an extra .

What I still need to add.

- An app to log events/info...Something like a 5-minute slots calendar, that is automatically indexed for the running minute
- Find again the link to world SW propagation predictions (it was posted here some months ago)

and of course I need to find the time to test some of these apps

small update:

Today i received the new flashdrive.
Added all the files and installed some of the protable apps (minesweeper, Audacity, Vox recorder)

I took time to try the voxrecorder and the way Audacity records (no need to go further I am familiar with the genre having experienc e with CoolEditPro)
I also "discovered " that windows 7 have a very smple recording function too.
But had to find the way to activate the "what you hear" option in my PC. Did it with the help of googling
(gone and missing are the days of my Audigy soundcard).

Saturday was a hellish day. I installed SDRSharp again and it was anightmare. installation worked only when i amnually installed the XP version of the Zadig driver, but that killed my RTL wifi adapter. took me half the morning to recover.

I am expecting delivery of a microphone. Then i think i will try echolink over the net...

Good report. If you right click most icons/exe files and select PROPERTIES,
you can set Win 7 to RUN the software like WIN XP or other choices ...
and this often helps older software run smoother.
