2009 morel harvest?
« on: May 23, 2009, 11:40:05 AM »
Just curious to know how the morel harvest is in "your" neck of the woods this year.  I have found it to be considerably less in Ohio this year -- last year was great. It didn't warm up as early and hasn't been nearly as wet. :(

In Door County, WI the one patch I know of was only about 1/10 of the size of last year's.

Pretty good hunt in mid-MO this year.  No records shattered, but respectable.

The biggest item of note is my parents actually heard a tree fall in the forest!  It was the equivalent of about a block away and it wasn't even windy that day.  The good news is that if someone is there to hear it, it does make a sound.   ;D

My sister has a couple hundred acres in Eastern Kentucky.
My friends and family here in Warren Co. OH made a trek to my sisters property and had a huge haul.
We had nothing in Warren Co. but its hard for anything natural to grow in the land of the yuppy subdivision.
