Tanker truck carrying butane (some report as propane) crashed in Seattle on I-90 near I-5 Junction.

Traffic is SO bad, that a local taco truck actually opened for business on I-5

The 1075 label is liquefied petroleum gas, but this can include butane or propane.  So that's not much help.

Massive power outage hits San Francisco.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/wide-area-of-san-francisco-hit-by-power-outage/2017/04/21/f3e65e70-26b5-11e7-928e-3624539060e8_story.html?utm_term=.e9a1c2c9d3b1

Side-effect: this outage seems to have taken archive.org offline for most of the day.  (It's back now.)  Good reminder of how local problems can have unexpected non-local effects.

Huge high rise apartment block fire in London.  Reports of fatalities and people trapped.

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-40269625

Wow, not used to seeing fires of this magnitude in places like London.  Sounds like the building is relatively old (1974), I think fire codes got really tight in the 80s.

Can't tell if this is the right thread for this, where I wanted to post this is in the "Active shooter & multiple homicide incidents, United States" however there weren't multiple homicides.

Shooter opens fire on Congressional baseball practice.
He was heard asking if they were Democrats or Republicans
Fired more than 50 shots and injured several injuries including Republican House Whip Steve Scalise, a staffer, and several capital police.

Shooter identified as James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois

Here is his facebook page before it disappears

Wonder if there will be calls for more restrictions on gun ownership.

They are saying there may be hundreds of fatalities but it's too early to say.
They also believe the cause was a faulty refrigerator.

Update, the bomber tried to blow himself up, from pictures it looks like it may have been a dud, flames instead of boom.
He was killed by gunfire though.

Shelter in place. Can't quite figure out why. I got this Alert on Scanner Radio.

Looks like Lebanon, NH or surrounding area.

Issues around the hospital.

Does anyone have info about this?

You might want to stay away from the National Mall today.

Two totally unrelated protests are happening. The unrelated events could bring thousands of demonstrators to the area stretching between the Lincoln Memorial and the United States Capitol. Both have attracted widespread attention.

Fans of Insane Clown Posse, known as "Juggalos," are holding the "Juggalo March" to protest their classification as a gang by the FBI and Department of Justice. A 2011 report on emerging trends by the FBI's National Gang Intelligence Center listed Juggalos under "non-traditional gangs."

The pro-Trump rally, labeled the "Mother of All Rallies," has been billed as an opportunity for participants to "demand protection for traditional American culture while they express their love for the United States and the America First agenda," according to its website. The event will also include speakers and musical performances near the Washington Monument in the center of the Mall.

So... we're talking about promoting massive credit card debt, arguing politics with family members on Thanksgiving, and thinking a loudmouth with a website trumps a peer reviewed scientific study?  Because that seems to be traditional American culture.

Amtrak train derailment in DuPont, WA (near Tacoma).  Deaths reported but statistics unknown.  First day of service on a new route through the area.  A passenger says the train hit a truck, and it has derailed onto I-5 blocking all the southbound lanes.

I think this is the spot:
