Welcome Northplow!

I'm wondering what your perception of the average Sweede is when it comes to prepping.  Is the average over there a grasshopper, ostrich, sheep, or ant?

Thanks and welcome!

Greetings from Pa.
I found you through LewRockwell.com. I poked around here for a couple hours last night and felt the time was very well spent. A lot of good people, informed, knowledgeable, and humor thrown in to keep things light when it's appropriate.
My wife and I live on 12 acres in SC Pa. with our 22 year old son and 20 year old daughter who are rarely here. We keep 4 horses, 3 donkeys, 9 goats, 35 chickens, 6 dogs, and 5 barn cats.
Two years ago we began to realize that the economy was headed south and the possibility of a very loooong winter was looming. In the spring of "07" I planted about a 1000 sq ft garden. It's grown to about 5000 since then. We learned to can and dehydrate our excess produce and our food stores are growing, but with the growing season we've had this year, we've been set back a bit. Although I believe we are way ahead of the majority of the sheeple in this crumbling country.
I'm here to share what we know and learn what we don't.  Joe

Thanks all. Don't even know where to look for the podcast. I grew up before the techno era started so it takes me awhile to figure these things out.  ::)  I'm still looking around and trying to figure out how to load pics.

Joe, there is a link up towards the top right for the podcast, but it does change to a link for the member support brigade every time you refresh,or click on something different, but here is a link:

http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/

And here is a link to a thread that tells how to post the pics:

http://thesurvivalpodcast.com/forum/index.php?topic=756.0

If you need any more help on it, just let us know.

                                                                -Chris

Edit:
That link for the pics has a couple of ways to do it, but I go through photobucket to upload my pics.

I don't have a photobucket so I'll look into one of the other ways. But for now - it's time for a 6-7 hr nap. Thanks for the tips.

Greetings All,

My name is Dale, and I hail from northern Canada. I'm 42, just celebrated my 19th wedding anniversary, and have 2 beautiful daughters. I'm an electronic technologist working in communications, and work in many remote locations (sometimes staying in world-class northern pike and lake trout fishing lodges).

I've been interested in survivalism since the 80s, but most information was on wilderness survival, which is fine in my locale. But this tends to only focus on the short-term. I came across TSP about November, downloading about 12 episodes. I instantly connected with what he was saying; a holistic long-term approach that wasn't the 'bunker-in-the-bush', cut-off from society approach as fringe survivalism is portrayed. He's logical and methodical, backs up his findings, and loves to attack conventional media dogma. His rants remind me a lot of myself. I like it.

I quickly realized I had to start back at episode 1 and work forward. I'm currently on the 1st anniversary show. I confess I've been 'lurking' through the forum for a while, but I hope to contribute something to the great community all of you have built here.

Cheers, and keep up the great work.

Hi everybody,

My name is Mel. I'm 24 and grew up in the Greater New Orleans area (Metairie, if you're wondering).  I've lived in a few places, having spent three of my four years of college in South Bend, Indiana at the University of Notre Dame and the other one in Athens, Greece.  I'm now living and working in Thailand as an English teacher.  My intro to The Survival Podcast also came from Lew Rockwell.  The timing was almost perfect because I had just come off of what I look back on as a very excessive overdose of Alex Jones.  Jack, I'm glad to say that you've helped me immensely in prying off the old tinfoil hat and getting my ass in gear to start dealing with what is really relevant.  As far as actual prepping is concerned, my recent globe-trotting has kept me from doing anything serious in the long term, but I'm really looking forward to getting back home and putting some of the info I've gathered to good use.  Of course, I miss my guns, too!  Nice to meet all of you and thanks for all of the help!

 Hello,

I am a middle age male that can see a coming chaos and came here to learn and hopefully contribute my limited knowledge to this forum.I don't know if being old and gray is going to have a place in Our new world but what the hell you got to try and do what you must to survive. My biggest problem will be after water, food and shelter is medical knowledge and herbs in treating health conditions. I have found red reisihi mushrooms is a good start for me in this direction. I Thank the mods and owners of this website for being concern about humanity in general.

We are new advertisers here on the podcast, and are glad to support the podcast.

We sell the Berkey light water filters, and have done so for over 4 years now.  We help people get better prepared when it comes to having clean water not only daily, but in an emergency.  We use the berkey products and love helping others get more prepared.

Welcome to all here,

Jeff

OK, now back to the topic at hand: Intros.

Hello all,

I’m from France, married, two kids, living near Paris. I found Jack and his great Survival Podcast about one year ago from gunrights podcasts such as Eric Shelton Handgun podcast. Jack said in one of his last shows that there was an international forum. So I decided to subscribe to share some info and learn from other survivalists.

I’m a manager in a European computing services company, with US investors. I would like to move out to a more rural area in the center of France and be more self sufficient. All what Jack says in his podcast is great value.

My wife comes from Hungary, many Hungarian people immigrated after the soviet occupation so we have friends in Germany, Belgium and in the Netherlands as well.

I am a law abiding citizen and legal gun owner – which takes lots of patience and paperwork here, target shooter and reloader, my favourite calibers are .45ACP and 45Colt for handguns and 8x57JS and 30-30 for rifle (all easy to reload). I like hunting too, and touring with my loaded bike as well.

I'd like to hear your experiences with the truck strikes and civil unrest that France has had over the last few years and if you and your family prep for these events.

Hey Y'all  ..I am single lady who happen to stumble upon the Ant and Grasshopper story on YouTube.. I have been the grasshopper for so long and now would like to become an lady ant..I have lived my 37 yrs depending on the grocery stores for my food and would like to be able to provide food for myself..
I have lived in the midwest all my life and would like to buy land for a BOL in the Northeast part of Tennessee...
If anyone lives in that area I would love to hear about some of the area to look at and areas to keep away from..
I work in the casino industry and plan to stay here as long as I can but really tired of the midwest cold winters..
Hope to meet lots of new friends and even maybe Jack someday..

Hi everyone I have just recently joined and have been lurking for awhile. I
am also under the same name on other boards but I'm trying to
find a consistent source of information and to contribute to as well.
I have been listing to the PODCAST for about a month now and have found them to be full of
good info. Thanks for letting me in..  ;D
