ha!  You crack me up, Orion.  :D

As long as we are in California, we will never, ever, ever get into the gun trade.  Ever.  Including magazines.

Also, regarding profits, it will probably never work like that (splitting profits 50/50).  That's all I'll say on that, as it's too complicated to get into it in detail.  Just know that it's not a slight to you, or to anybody else.  That just isn't how we do things.

t-shirt
Over the left breast,
"I KNOW JACK S..." or "YOU DON'T KNOW JACK S..." (just the last inital & ...)
On the back, the TSP logo with Jack's name over it or under it.

Just an idea.

How about:
-Jack Knows
-Jack Knows Best

Either surrounding the TSP logo over the left breast.  These could be put on golf shirts, t-shirts, etc.  A big logo on the back would add to printing costs.

(Did I hear the TSP logo was called Val?)

If it wouldn't be offensive to AA members, I'm not sure it has already been suggested but how about a...

Me thinks I have a wonderful product.

the "Ladies of TSP" survival calendar.

Or even the "Ladies of TSP" TactiHOT Swimsuit Calendar

And even for the ladies, we could do the "Men of TSP" TactiCOOL Searingly Sexy Swimsuit Schedule.

*starts doing pushups*

It works out well in our area for some firefighter organizations, so I figure survivalists might be of the above-average-physical-condition type as well... Certainly by summertime twelve of us could have some nice ripped biceps and abs ;-)

I ripped some forearm muscles last year, so yeah, I could probably rip others.  Will a photo of me in a hospital gown and Ace bandages be suitable?

Photos of married preppers should be accompanied by a small inset photo of the spouse carrying a large weapon.  This will serve to keep minds on prepping.  ;D

SW, In California I would like to get a long sleeve black tee and a black baseball hat for Paul. I would like to get a black hoody sweatshirt with a zipper for me. Also we need a lot of patches. We ride a motorcycle, so a head bandana would be neat in black also. The demand has to be there in the group to buy it for sure. If you guys had pens with the logo I could buy those to give to friends with website on it, if it is inexpensive enough.

The survivalpodcast app. The end of the world- there's an app for that. ;D
Not sure if your programmers have the tools and know how I just watched a special on cnbc on apple apps and it seems pretty in depth.

Depends on the angle of the shot.  Frontal view would probably be ok.  Rear view, not so much.  Those hospital gowns don't cover much back there.

I just had an evil idea!!

Think of it as a challenge coin variant, with a PRACTICAL application.

How about a TSP coin based on the stagecoach bar?http://www.teapartysilver.org/other.html

But put the val head and ant, where the stagecoach would be, the TSP web addy on top, and the term "G.O.O.D. Money" on the bottom(G.O.O.D.=Get Out Of Dodge). And on the reverse side, the 1/4 "break down"

Cool yet extremely practical?

Now the real challenge is who will mint it? ???

that would be extremely cool!  The only think we're waitin' for is the price of silver to go down to a reasonable purchase point (most minting place charge you a looooot extra on top of spot in order to mint each "coin" or "bar").

The making of the die, to mint the coins with, will definately be the fly in the buttermilk!! :-\

What about cast "coins" or bars?

IIRC, silver flows very well, so you could have an open face mold and just pour in an ounce of silver at a time, or do a 10 well mold and pour in 10 ounces. Weigh each bar when you cut the sprues, and trim until it's exactly 1 ounce.

Done! ;-)

Silver doesn't oxidize very readily, and until we started burning coal for fuel, it was considered a noble metal - the only atmospheric gas that attacks it is sulfur dioxide, so you won't have to worry terribly much about loss of melt. Won't be "certified" but if you start out with good stuff, and maybe see about getting it "certified" by a third party, it might be a cheaper option. I'm sure we've got enough blacksmiths out here that could work up something if we wanted to go in on a group buy of bulk silver/casting grain and do it.

Crowd-source to the rescue!

The question is, can we trust our blacksmiths with all that silver, or will orion go out and use it to buy raffia and taffeta?  :D

Just kiddin', brother.  That's actually a bad-ass idea.  Have you seen the challenge coins yet?  Can you match that quality?

Well orion blade is right about silver . Like gold, it doesn't oxidize or corrode.  It really can't be destroyed, unless you hit it with a 5 kiloton nuke

Sister, my middle NAME is Quality.

Sure, with no effort and very little capital investment!

Unfortunately my first name is Pilesof and my last name is Bullshit.

 :P

I'd have to melt down a few silver rounds and give it a shot. The only problem will be the back face, but silver casts like a champ, so I figure with a halfway decent mold it'd do pretty well. The biggest issue is air bubbles, and with a little vacuum pump and a preheated mold, that's not an issue.

What kind of quantity do you anticipate being able to sell?

Assume 80% of the current demand for the coinage?

I foresee making the molds/consulting on having them made and then handing the operation over to someone with more spare time/opportunity for profit, as opposed to becoming a supplier - just 'cause I already have my plate full as hell with some outside obligations.

Maybe over the summer/fall, though, I could make a few hundred in a week or two. (should be able to cast about ten an hour, if you have your shit straight on melt times and mold cooling/preheat times. A toaster oven would preheat the mold adequately, and one of those flamethrower propane torches for killing weeds or heating roofing tar would melt the silver in a graphite crucible - 4 ounce graphite crucibles run about 10 bucks for three at harbor freight btw.

Since it's silver, you could use a stainless steel cup to melt it in, but you might get brazing, so I'd stick with graphite. Might need to passivate (parkerize/hot blue)  the steel mold if you get adhesion between the silver and the steel. Maybe even chrome plating - I think the solubility of iron oxide in silver is pathetic, though, so hot blueing would be the best bet, since parkerizing is a phosphate conversion, and phosphor's an awful lot like sulfur in alot of instances.

Dammit don't ask me these questions after I've watched Iron Man... AGAIN...

Who else do you know that can build repulsors out of a few yards of taffeta, a coconut, a pound of nails, and a sheet of paper?

Sincerely,
Raffia Boy

I'm not sure if this has been suggested (it's a big thread at this point), but I would personally dig a round or oval sticker with the ant from the hat on it.
Best regards,
