Question on tender offer
« on: December 02, 2009, 07:23:33 AM »
I am very confused on what happens during a tender offer. I have received offers in the past, let them expire and have been given stock from the company that is taking over the old. For example, they took my Bear Stearns stock and gave me shares of JP Morgan in its place when they bought them.

Recently, I got a tender offer for Omniture (OMTR). Once again I let the offer expire and now have nothing. All my OMTR stocks have been taken from my account along with their value, and nothing has replaced them. Did I miss something? Am I an idiot for letting it expire? Is there anything I can do? I'm so confused. I cannot seem to find any answers and was hoping someone here could help. Thanks.
