I had NO idea these things were thrown away!!  I just got the ok to redo my kitchen - paint cabinets, countertops, etc. - and I'm planning to do it on my own.  I love the idea of a tiled granite countertop if indeed I could get the scraps at a great discount.
congrats on the new kitchen. If you have any questions about granite and or kitchen remodel just ask.

Late post, but you can sell them to leatherworkers as well. We are always looking for the perfect polished face to do tooling on. The thicker the better though.

I'm sure an artist could do some very interesting things with scrap granite and epoxy/metal/gold/glue using the wabi sabi aesthetic.

I thank everyone for some cool ideas. I recently learned about key stone gardening. So that's something I want to build with the granite. Also I wanted to build a long  curved stacked granite bench around the fire pit.

I was also thinking of making a manual for trees.ie etch out on a piece of granite.... This is a ...fill in the blank ....type of tree it can be used for .... And its medical property's are..... And so on. But it could be a teaching tool for when I'm long gone.thoughts?

Many not-for-profits sell "name" tiles in order to fund projects.  Perhaps there are some botanical gardens that would be interested in something as you have described above?   My biggest beef with botanical gardens is the lack of sufficient labeling in their outdoor displays.

I can see the potential to sell engraved plant markers for trees at nurseries as well.

Working garden sundials.  You can make a template for the specific region.

They make reconstituted marble, I don't see why granite wouldn't work.
