Need opinion on a manual vacuum sealer I am considering

The pump and seal:

Review:

Would theoretically be a cheap way to vacuum pack using ordinary zip lock bags

Also here is an interesting and cheap device for dry canning nuts and seeds/etc in mason jars

We have had the pump and seal for a long time and I use it a lot.  It works great for storing anything in glass jars - I don't store anything in plastic bags but it's supposed to work good for that too. I try to stick with gadgets that don't require electricity so if I need it and we have no power I can still use it.

TwoBluesMama,

Do you have the pump pictured in the instructables or do you have the actual "pumpnseal" device?

I'm with you, I like to go low tech due to the reliability factor mainly.
Thanks,

Nick

It's the PumpNSeal brand one - there's another old thread about this where I posted pictures and some discussion about it.  You can access it here: http://thesurvivalpodcast.com/forum/index.php?topic=11102.msg122775#msg122775 - Hope this helps!  Blessings, TBM
