Local food producers resource
« on: February 11, 2009, 10:50:45 AM »
http://www.localharvest.org/

This is a great website that connects you to local food producers.  You put in your zip code and you get notices of new farms/producers in your area, what produce is for sale during any given time of year, and specials from small producers across the country.  It's a great way to build those local relationships with both commercial and Mom & Pop operations in your area.

Great link.  I buy my bulk grains and beans from one of the stores on the list.

Thanks!  I have used other search engines, but this one drug up several that I haven't heard of yet.  Pretty surprising for a town of 14k people!

Wish there were more people in my area doing things.  Closest is about 30 miles from here.  =-[
