Hard white wheat now available at local Costco
« on: April 01, 2010, 01:02:52 AM »
Today I picked up a 45# 5 gal. bucket of Hard White Wheat (by Lehi Roller Mills) at Costco (who knew?!) for $14.49.  They're also stocking a breakfast emergency set (6 #10 cans of eggs, oatmeal, pancake mix, etc for about $55 in case somebody's looking for that. Don't know if this is just here in the Phoenix area or a temporary thing or the start of a trend for Costco, but there it is.  You certainly save on shipping!

Do you have an item number so my Costco can look it up in their computer?  Thanks.

Wheat is 212029 on the sign in the store.  The breakfast items are 465877.  It's $57.49. I was off $2.49.

All I could find on there site.

15 bucks for 5 gallon bucket sounds a lot better than these prices. But S&H is included, so it's prob lower in the store. I haven't been to Costco in years, but at those prices I might consider changing that.

The Costcos by me, well in the SLC metro area, have been carrying this kind of stuff for years.  But Costco, from what I have read, gives a lot of leeway to it's purchasing managers to stock things of interest to local members.  In Utah, that would be food storage stuff.

As a side note, I have been very impressed with my Lehi Roller Mills grains.  they are just in the bucket, no mylar bags, but it will still last long enough if you are eating what you store, and only store what you eat  :D  and at 45#, they are probably 6 gal buckets.  At least the ones I bought are.

also, I have heard that Thrive/ShelfRelience food Storage is not going to be sold through retail stores anymore.  Just through home parties and online.

I'll have to check if the Costco in north Cincinnati is carrying this stuff, I've been looking for a good place to pick up some wheat.

Just checked a local Costco here in TX, no joy on the wheat.  Happy they are stocking in some locals though.

I didn't see them at the two Costco stores I typically visit in Houston (Weslayan or Bunker Hill locations).

No wheat or thrive in Huntsville, Alabama store.  However, I've ordered several packages of Thrive food from the Costco web site.  Great service and cheaper than other sites.
