If You are going to BUY SILVER, DO IT NOW

Spend 20 minutes perusing through e-bay's silver site: Scan for the rolls of silver
[20 silver eagles in a tube].  Every Single Roll that is being offered has a plethora
of bids, and they are selling for over $600. per roll.

APMEX  is out of the rolls of silver.  One individual silver eagle is $31.42

and future currency values."

I had my first encounter with Silver Mania yesterday.

I went to an auction and a set of Sterling flatware turned up unexpectedly. 17 pcs of Lunt.

Being kind of familiar with the design, I estimated the weight at 19oz, bidable at a max of $20.00/oz for a grand total of $380.00.

My $300.00 opening bid started a 6-way shootout that ended when the winner paid $660.00 for the set.

Call it $34.75 an ounce.

The other buyers were desperate to get their hands on the silver. There was a palpable feeling of panic behind every bid except mine. (I only made one.)

Yeah. The Silver Rush is definitely on.

Yikes.  :o

I am happy to report that "junk silver" is still at or below spot (depending on your luck) on eBay. Caveat emptor, as always.

I'd say the same for silver stocks. I know that holding physical silver is important... but if silver doubles to $50 an ounce... silver mining stocks will go up 10 times.

Last week on Ebay I got 24 dimes for $46 AND 9 QUARTERS for $43 free shipping.  Total was $89 and the day it shipped the melt value for that silver was $90.01 according to coinflation.  I felt really good that day!

I have a soft spot for Morgan and Peace dollars, i love them. Picked up 2  Morgans and 4 Peace dollars at a local shop. $22 a piece tax title and out the door. I also found them at garage sales over this past summer. I was getting them at 15-25 depending on condition. I have tried to get some at auctions recently and they were getting crazy prices. Same for eBay it seems like it is really getting competitive there as well. I like to hold them before i buy, that is why i don't do much online stuff. I like not having to pay shipping and then worrying about them arriving safely.

Wow, I might have to think about unloading a couple rolls at those prices.  Too bad eBay fleeces the seller so bad though, it takes pretty big idiot bidders to offset the fifteen fees.

Even at silver plus $34 an ounce, I think it is a good deal. I am keeping some cash on the sidelines as I hope for a drop. I also still buy a few ounces each month to take advantage of the dollar-cost averaging. I think silver will peak over $50.
