Those of us who regularly spend time in the woods are probably aware of all the resources available to us.  I'm sure there are folks who either haven't spent much time utilizing their state's natural resources, or are thinking they might like to, but don't know where to begin.

With that thought in mind, I'd like this thread to be a starting point for our less experienced outdoor enthusiasts.  As regular users it's incumbent upon us to pass on a love of the outdoors.  I'll start by posting links for my conservation dept., I'd like others to post their own state's information.  If you'd prefer you can IM the links to me & I'll post it in this thread.

Missouri Conservationist Magazine

For Missouri residents this is a free magazine that can be ordered on-line.  It doesn't cost you a dime.  For those that live outside of Missouri, you can download it as a PDF file off the page I linked.

All these links can be found on the main page I linked first.

Please add your own state's opportunities & resources.

Michigan...
http://www.michigan.gov/dnr

Funny story...The DNR (Department of Natural Resources) isn't very well liked by a lot of the true hunting and fishing population up here.  There was some guy that had some land along the interstate and put up a big honkin billboard that read "DNR = Damn Near Russia".
1.  Couldn't help but chuckle every time I drove passed it.
2.  Couldn't help but chuckle every time I though about the conservation officer that probably watched him like a hawk from opening day 'tlll season close.

VIRGINIA

http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/

If you look on the hunting section it can guide u to public lands to hunt, its all I have since I got out of the military and became a transplant to Virginia, Not like Ohio where my family hunted on friends of the families for generations...
