Save Our Skills! saveourskills.com
« on: September 20, 2010, 02:48:45 PM »
I'm excited to be taking over the SaveOurSkills.com project from Jack as the new "webmaster" (for lack of a better title at the moment)

I'm trying to do a 30 to 45 minute weekly podcast which will feature members of the community. If you're raising livestock, forging metal, or building a greenhouse, or anything else useful and you think you could talk for 30 minutes on it please PM me. I really need help until this thing builds momentum.

I've already recorded my first episode with Dennis from http://www.gardenpool.org   Check out his website, it is simply amazing what he has going on. I'll get that up very soon. Focusing now on getting the website correct before I start getting content out there.

If you don't want to do a podcast but you would like to write an article for the blog, that would be fantastic. This is a great venue to promote your own blog or website as a "guest blogger" and generate some good inbound link love :D

I hope to be producing a bunch of videos and written content for the blog, however I would like to also get content from our great community for the blog too.

Please also checkout my new website design. If you have any cool ideas you can hit the feedback link on the lefthand side of the site and put them there or just email me

(nick at saveourskills.com) or just PM me here.

I'll be gone until Wednesday and will answer any replies then.

Thanks in advance!

Good for you, Nick. The concept behind that site is so inspiring. I'm really looking forward to learning some new skills, and joining the preservation effort. All the best to you as you take SOS forward.

Mark

Nick,
Just wanted to know I'm really digging the podcast so far. Two very unique guests so far.

Any thoughts on getting an interview with Jack or visa versa?

Bartsdad,

First of all, thanks for bearing with me through my audio issues (microphone bumping and cell phone disruption) and I will remedy that this week. Microphone stand + turning off cell phone.

Having Jack on the podcast, yes obviously that would be a big draw for me and maybe it will happen in the future, I'm not sure I could be on TSP though... at least not at this point. Not unless he does a show on PHP programming or mountain biking :D
