Changing the Default Theme
« on: November 23, 2010, 06:53:31 PM »
Everybody will be switched to the new default theme immediately.  Babylon is going bye bye.  If you had a dark theme before, you will need to switch back to that theme.

Cope.

Babylon was breaking some things that are needed on this forum (such as the new google search tool, and our ad management software).  I had to get rid of it, and it was our default.  Everybody (including me) had to get switched.

Wow right in the middle of a post. Seriously sis...I thought I clicked something and changed the whole thing. I knew I would be kicked off the forum for sure!

I really am sorry.  My guts were in a twist knowing that I'd piss off at least a hundred members with a single click of the mouse.

But look at it this way - now you have a google search box at the bottom of the forum!  *nervous smile*

Sis,
Thanks for working and doing all this stuff.
I know its awkward during the switch-over, but you're doing a great job.

I love the camo theme.  It's the prettiest of the light themes, I think.

Sis, I like the new theme. The colors are great for me. It switched for me when I switched pages. Not a shock as I had already read your post that it was changing. Thanks for all you do.

Now, if you were to, say, accidentally delete the entire forum, well, we might have to cut back someone's coffee ration... ;)

I think I changed my theme to camouflage, but now I can't find my screen.  ;D

The forum looks good. It's very similar to the previous version, so it's not all that unsettling a change.

I like the new scheme. It was a bit of a shock when I first logged in, but I knew who did it. I just clicked on unread posts, found this thread, and of course, there she was, confessing.  ;)

One small thing, SW.

We seem to be missing the searchable member list with the new theme.

Scared me, I thought there were server problems again and the forum went back in time to 2008 again.
Good job Sis! Can't wait to try google search.

Sorry about that Tex!  I was gonna say "wtf.. it's always something."  but you're right.  For anybody else who wants the members list, it moved to the top of the forum for some reason.

No.  Babylon was breaking our software.  I had to delete it.  I never would have switched everybody if it hadn't been causing problems.

Dev was just being lazy.  He never used babylon.  He uses gold moon.

If you want to change your theme to another color scheme, you're welcome to do that.  (Profile > Look & Layout Preferences > Change theme)

But babylon is gone.

Sorry about the inconvenience, MS.

It's a bit odd looking right now but definitely not a problem. Stuff happens, this is a small one.

In the infamous words of Red Green.

I'm a man.
I can change if I have to.
I guess.

I was a jerk last time you changed themes and will apologize again.

I tried the camo theme, it reminded me of GI Joe, but alas, was too hard to look at.

I tried the Full Moon theme and it must not like my settings because it was really wanky. :wtf:

So, I will happily use the new default theme until something better comes along.

Thanks Sis for all the hard work you do around here.

I guess I am just being lazy too.  I just hate software changes.  it requires that I do something different.  sigh.  I will get over it.  And, SW, you do do a lot for us, so I shouldn't complain.  my apologies.

You have my full sympathy and if you want to complain, you are welcome to do so.  I will even buy you a hot chocolate and nod my head when you need validation.

btw, I wasn't implying that you were being lazy.  I just know dev.  And I know he was.  ;)
