Mech Tech Carbine
« on: February 10, 2011, 12:28:53 PM »
All,

I snagged a Mech Tech carbine upper for a spare 1911 frame a while back. This upper is in the 460 Rowland cartridge (longer 45 acp with super high velocities).

Great gun, 1500 FPS out of some of the 185 Gr rounds. 1300 ish with the 230 gr. I am running the Chip McCormick 10 round mags with no issues.

Regards,

Andy

Mech Tech Update:

I took it out this weekend to test some Georgia Arms Ammo ( great stuff! ) . I also tried running 45 ACP though the 460 Rowland (the Rowland cartridge is a longer 45 ACP case ). I found that decent factory ammo feeds/shoots fine through it.

As an aside, I took the rail off the Mech Tech and popped a set of AR15 sights on it, I now have a MUCH better sight picture and some adjustability.

A great little carbine!
