First Silver Purchase
« on: January 07, 2011, 04:37:10 PM »
So today I stopped by my old neighbor who happens to run a coin shop out of his basement.  He has Roosevelt Dimes for $1.50 each so I bought a roll (50)(and he sold them to me for $53.  He says that he doesn't raise his prices with the price of silver, he bases his prices on what he paid for them.

I should've bought more from him.

Yeah, I know he has probably another 100 or so and who knows what he's got hidden too.  I lived next to him for 7 years and never bought a coin from him.  Now I'm starting my silver collection, I'll definitely get my silver from him.

As long as they are pre 1965. If they are with silver at 28.69, and you bought 50, you ended up with $103.77 worth of silver. I would say you got a very good deal. No tax, no shipping charge and cash and carry, a great deal.

Yes they are all pre-1965.  I was surprised to find that he doesn't raise his prices with the price of silver.

You should buy everything he has!  Or if not, tell him I will :)

Looks like I have a new "fishing" hole for silver.  I plan to go back on Monday and buy him out.
