Bartering for Silver
« on: January 08, 2011, 07:20:07 PM »
I have some chickens that are beginning to lay eggs.  My plan is to sell them and am totally open to bartering for them.  My aim is $2 or $3/dozen in fiat currency.  Todays price of a silver dime is $2.07.  Am I correct to ask for 1 silver dime for a dozen eggs as being a close "value", as opposed to asking for face value of silver dimes (20 dimes FV).

You are correct. One silver dime is worth approx. $2.08 when the last market closed yesterday. Of course, if you can find someone nutty enough to give you 20.....
