Berkey Independent Lab Testing Data? NSF?
« on: February 06, 2011, 09:23:45 AM »
Can anyone point me to a source which compares the Berkey system to other filtration/purification systems or to known standards (i.e. NSF).  I can't seem to find any testing information for Berkey systems.  Looks like a great system and nearly all the reviews I read on TSP and other web sites are quite positive but if there's no independent water quality test data then how does anyone really know what's being removed or added to the water.  Just want to do my due diligence.

The Black Berkey Elements have been independently tested at three labs, please email me at directive21@directive21.com and I will send the testing results.

Can you post the info up? I would be interested in seeing it and I assume others would as well.

Thanks

Shawn

Why not just post it for everyone to see? If you will send it to anyone that will ask why not post it once and have the info out there?

Hi! I recently bought a travel berkey. Would like to know why does the water taste a little sweet?

I have never heard that, if only 5-10 gallons have been filtered, please filter more water and let us know if the taste changes.

I had this issue too, which I emailed about. It seems that you need to run 10 gallons per black element for that sweetness or slight saltiness taste to disappear. I have 4 elements in mine so it took about 20-30 gallons.
