.22 LR Jacketed Bullets?
« on: March 01, 2011, 07:03:28 PM »
Why are there no copper jacketed .22 LR bullets.  I have several guesses.  What do you think?

1. Cost
2. Velocity Limits
3. Pressure Limits

I know I have seen .22 LR, copper jacketed, hollow point bullets but for the life of me cannot remember who made them.  I'll try to get out in the reloading room and see if I can find some and find out who makes them.

Not disagreeing with you and I could be mistaken, but I'm sure I have seen them.

They used to make them for .22 magnums. I think it is a combination of your ideas.  I think it may also be that the plain lead hp do enough damage for the size of game that is normally taken that it just wouldn't justify the expense for the little bit of improvement to use copper.  Just a thought
