NEW PRODUCT: TYT TH-UVF1 Dual Band Hand Held Transceiver
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:42:00 AM »
I have a small shipment of these radios that just came in. I have been evaluating a pair of these for a couple of months now and decided to offering them on my website. The TYT TH-UVF1 is a dual band (VHF/UHF) hand held that is also FCC Part 90 Certified.

70-108MHz  (FM Receive only)
136MHz -174MHz  (RX/TX)
400MHz -470MHz  (RX/TX)
128 channels
4 watts high power/0.5 watts low power
Voice inversion scrambler
Keypad or PC programming (with free software and optional third party cable)

This radio has a host of features which can be seen on the manufacturer's website. I'll have a page on my site in a few weeks but I wanted to give TSP members advanced notice. Price will be $109.99 each plus shipping but will waive shipping on this batch only. If you are interested, please email me for to get this special offer.

A couple of answers to anticipated questions:

Q) Will this radio work on MURS or FRS/GMRS?
A) The radio is fully functional on those frequencies although it is not FCC certified for those radio services

Q) Will this radio work with the Dakota Alert equipment?
A) Yes. See answer to question above.

Q) Will this radio work on 2 meter and 440 MHz ham bands?
A) Yes, the radio works very well on those frequencies.

Q) Are accessories (speaker mics, earbuds, programming cable, etc.) compatible with other radios?
A) The accessories for this radio are compatible with the Puxing PX-777+ as well as some of the Kenwood TK-series radios with the two prong plug.

Q) Does this radio have cross band repeat capabilities?
A) The radio does not have a cross band repeat capability.

Please feel free to post additional questions here or contact me directly if you prefer.

Thanks!

- Rob

What type of battery does this device use (LI, etc.)?

Is there an AA Battery Pack adapter available for it?

Does it meet any particular standards (i.e., Milspec) for durability, shock, water resistance, etc.?

Does the PC Programming Software cost extra?

Thanks!

Not currently.

No. Most of the less expensive radios do not.

Software is free and can be downloaded from the manufacturer.

Also, included with the radio is also a cigarette lighter cable for charging the radio in your vehicle or other 12v source.

I haven't added them to the site yet. I just got back from a long overdue vacation (first in years) and will start working on getting it online soon. In the meantime, I still have the free shipping offer going on. PM or email me if you are interested.
