Tax Refund Check
« on: February 18, 2009, 02:53:53 PM »
Just a question. Has anyone recieved their tax refund checks yet? Initially when I sent my taxes off electronically they said for me to contact them if I did not recieve it three weeks from when I filed. They said I should recieve my taxes on the 17th. Well, its been a few days and I logged into the IRS.GOV and now they are telling me to wait for 6 weeks before contacting them. With more and more states saying they can not pay their people refunds it makes me ancy about the Federal Governments ability to pay back my refund. Just wanted to know if I have anything legitimate to worry about. I probably don't.

Probably just backed up printing them.  Aren't all those tax refund presses making $100 bills right now?

I'm still waiting on my damned W-2's!  My devil company did send out theirs (I was shocked), but I was told it was returned to them.  I am picking it up in person tomorrow morning.  My current company said they sent it 1/26, but I never received it.  Trying to get them to send me another one and trying to get the info immediately.

Don't forget that you can just use the last pay stub you received last year.

Unfortunately, devil company only paid me twice last year...that's why they're the devil company.  Couldn't find either stub.

I optioned for direct deposit. They don't have to print anything to give me. All they have to do is directly transfer it into my account. Bastards...

I never pay until the 15th of April, and I never get a refund. My wimpy version of tax revolt.

Our "people" will be at the house Saturday....doing what he does best: get us the biggest refund possible....by hook or crook. Any man that knows you can deduct pantyhose and dry cleaning.....he's tops in my book. (wife's pantyhose...not mine :) )

Find yourself a retired IRS instructor.....keep him for life! It's worth it!

What are those listed as?
And I'd rather not hear about your pantyhose...

We found ours through the father-in-law.  IRS and "Friend" usually don't go hand in hand, but this guy is a pretty cool dude.  Had given us stock tips and Pre-ipo info (the kind that got Martha in a striped suit) well before we were able to act on it.  We'd have made a boatload if we'd had the money. Anyhoo....he used to do taxes for a company the FIL worked for.  Gave the FIL a deal on his taxes, saved a metric crapload of money, and kept him since.

Where do you find them?  Check your friends that use personal tax guys, not the H&R blockheads. Might even check a business, see if they hire a guy or a group.  Get their number or stop by and ask if anyone does it freelance on the side.

We went from owing 4 digits each year, to getting back 4 digits consistently.  That's 4 digits BEFORE the decimal point. We're going to work with him to see what we need to do to break even next year.....just in case the US and WV decides to issue "vouchers" instead of checks next year.

As soon as my W4 was in my hands, I went home that night and filed. Luckily my taxes are simple so I didn't want to hesitate on that s*it.

I filed via Turbotax and had it electronically filed w/direct deposit. Got it back in 6 business days. *PHEW!*

I have to pay, apparently I'm not smart enough to get out of it.

I'll file April 14th.

Whoo-hooo! Mine came in today. As usual, though, my state is draggin their feet. I was just worried that the Feds would start not being able to pay.

FYI   I have a friend who does taxes and she also told me that anybody who didn't get the full stimulous amount last year is supposed to be getting it when they file this year. She said that they are already getting some of those back. Plus she told me that there is "supposed to be" another one this year $400 single $800 couple.
Bailey I think I could make ya a match stick splitter for those things ya call logs. lol  Sorry this little splitter isn't for sale and wouldn't do ya any good as you need a 30+hp tractor to run it. Send me info what you are looking for. Like Horizontal or combo and a budget and I will do some checking.
