Yeah, I am still waiting for the Hello Kitty paint job. (Which is still leading the poll, btw.)  ;D

Got a new addition for it today.

Towbar. Works for either the 2.5 or 5 ton trucks.  Might be worth my while to see what would be needed to get it modded so I can hook up a civvy car or truck to the back of the M109.

I'm curious how your getting the skewed perspective in the pictures, is it lens work or is that post editing?   Your pics are just freakin amazing.

Those last images were shot using a 14mm 2.8 lens and I am close to the truck.

CMX,

When I get home I will send you the TM for that tow bar medium. It is (71) pages.
Provided my i'net connection is fixed. One of my trees lost a branch and took out power and the net.
Life goes on.

You are most welcome. Those of us unfortunate enough to be afflicted with "Green Iron Fever" need to support each other.

Both

Camera is a Nikon D700
The lens for those two images is the awesome made from magic Nikon 14-24 2.8

Post production depends on how I shot the images. The two above are a combination of 3 different frames shot at different exposures to capture the light range (commonly called HDR photography)

Interesting effects, that picture looks like it was from a manufacture of puzzles...or one of those desktop backgrounds that come with the OS . . that make the photo look more real than real life.

CMX, is the beast still running strong on straight UMO?  I think I may have a consistent source for my '91 7.3IDI, and may give it a whirl.

I don't run strait used oil. I use a mixture of diesel, used motor oil and whatever half empty can of ATF or whatever I find in the garage.

I have BOV envy too. I was told when we get property I get to have one. Happening next spring!! Yeah me. After listening to the BOV podcast a while back the two guys made me stop and think. How available are parts? how easy is it to find parts if I really needed them? I have a buddy who has like 4 deuce's, we actually nicknamed him deuce, but two of them are mainly parts trucks, and two were running trucks. He bought the parts trucks because it was the easiest way to get extra parts.

A family member loves to tinker with cars and trucks, and wife said I could build my own BOV with his help, if I wanted, however I wanted. so now I am torn. She has no idea what I have come up with in my head. Part tractor, part truck,  part RV.

CMX how hard is it to find parts for your BOV? How hard would it be if there was no access to internet or shipping?

Part Tractor, truck, RV ?  I'm interested in what you come up with..  could be a interesting and fun build.

As for my thoughts on getting parts post internet and shipping?  Good luck.  I would think that damn near anything and most likely everything will be difficult to get much less find post internet and you can almost forget shipping.

I would think that the best options is to get it before you need it.  Or you'll have to do without.  I could however be wrong.

I have access to two sources locally for bigger parts (injector pump, compressor. engine if I REALLY need it etc) and other parts like filters I can get at NAPA. That said I do have on hand a few parts that I just keep on hand. I have a spare alternator and voltage regulator.

All in all there are not many parts on these trucks that could fail to leave you stuck.

There are two fuel pumps. An electrical and and mechanical. Once running there are not any real need for any sort of electrical part (and you can roll start them)
