The times I did actually catch up to people yes. But most of the times people just slowed down as they passed then moved on. One idiot did pull in front of me while I was on a secondary street and upon realizing I was not slowing down promptly unassed the area in front of me.

Can't wait to hear what the neighbors think of your purchase!   Ever think about driving that thing in the next 4th of July parade?   A guy in a neighboring town has a WWII era 6 wheeled armored personnel carrier and runs it in the parade....very awesome sight!

Please post pics, cmxterra, as you work on it. I want to see the transformation over time.

 :)

Is it going to get a new color scheme or will that remain the same?

Got some good work done today.

Picked up some 1/4 plywood for the subfloor.

First piece down.

Prepping the metal below the second piece

All three down and ready to install the hardwood flooring.

Wider view

Started putting down the Hardwood and will post some pics when I get a bit more of it installed.

Right now I have it at the house. But to keep a wife happy it can only stay here a few days at a time. The rest of the time I found a person here in town with some land that he rents space to RV's and such to keep it.

I wish I had more land here at the house to keep it here all the time. Oh well.

Is this truck the multi-fuel variety?
I know it's bad, but what sort of mileage does it get?
I love the concept, it's a robust truck/camper combination.

It is the multi-fuel

I have not had a full tank through it yet but from what I understand it gets about 10mpg or so.

It has a 50gl tank and I am going to add another 50 to 100gl

It's the multi-fuel that really makes this truck shine as a bug out vehicle. And 10mpg ain't bad for a truck this big.

It is fun to share the project.

Next on my list is to seal the roof of the camper section. There is some rust up there and it is letting some water in. So I am either going to go the Herculiner route or find some other way to get some rubberized sealant.

I did look at the spray on stuff but they are wanting way more than I have to spend to get it done.

Your local RV dealer would probably have some products/suggestions for your roof sealer.

My only concern is if someone tried locking you in it. Can you use the smaller windows as an escape hatch? Does that bar dividing the window come out.

Another fun filled day.

Found some roof repair tape (commercial grade) Stuff was expensive 95 bucks for a 4" x50' roll. But buy once cry once on this part (and the spray on liner involved too much crying so I skipped that)

Also you can see some 3M undercarrage spray.

Getting on top

Prepping the surface

Tape down on one of the seams

And now with the 3M spray on top of that to seal any little bit o problem.

I used three cans of the spray but that was not enough. I think I am going to need at least three more, maybe four.

Looks good with the undercoating !! after a couple days the undercoating dries enough you can paint over it if you want to The 08881 3M you bought is good stuff i've been using it for over 20 years. Did they come with the straw and extra nozzle? you can be very neat with the straw, the wide spray tip it comes with is a little sloppy. you can use one of of a can of carb cleaner or brake cleaner as a substitute. A little tip keep the cans warm before you spray keeps them from blocking the sprayer or straw longer and helps you use the whole can. leave in the house on the radiator or in the sun in the window. I let the car/truck run with the heat blowing on the can on the floor on fall days like now if was too much of a pain to go in and out and i didn't want to touch anything with U/Coat on my hands

I like the truck alot, it looks great with the wood floor & paint job 8)

Excellent choice on the roof stuff. Eternabond is the best stuff for this purpose. With all my past and current motorhomes and travel trailers I grew very familiar with eternabond. This doesn't help you much now, but that exact same roll of eternabond is $57 with free shipping on Amazon and I have seen it on a couple websites recently in the high $40's.

I am working on making your thread and ncjeepers thread into stickies. Asked an admin to help me out and waiting on a response.

(edit) Figured it out. Someone beat me to ncjeepers

I did see it cheaper but I needed it now. Weather moving in and I have to move it to a storage spot and wanted it to be sealed.
