Has anyone dealt with M40 Wilderness Survival Store?
« on: February 11, 2012, 11:37:17 AM »
I stumbled on the website, they won't ship out of the US but there is some great stuff here. Looks like he puts together his own survival kits with intelligence and seems to have some useful/innovative stuff.

$6 Trench lighter - multi-fuel that will probably never dry out in storage.
$13 knives - made from DeWalt demolition grade recip saw blades.
$3 LED micro-strobe

They have some pretty cool stuff to be sure.  Check out this site http://www.bepreparedtosurvive.com/.  The site owner/operator (John McCann) is literally the guy who wrote the book on survival kits and recently published an outstanding wilderness skills & survival handbook.  He only carries top quality, proven gear at very reasonable prices.  If your going to make a survival kit, of any size or purpose, check out his site as well.

Perfesser,

I have dealt with M40 in the past as I followed some instructions he posted about a DYI khukri (http://www.m4040.com/Survival/Ghurka/Khukri%20Modification.htm).  He was responsive and a great guy to talk to.  His store has some interesting stuff, but nothing I see that I could not find/make on my own.  But,  I am glad to see that he has a storefront!  I hope he has something you need.
