$4.12 for regular this morning. The prices won't change tomorrow, but I bet they are higher on Monday.

$4.39 for diesel.

Just looked for the highest priced gas in Oregon in the last 48 hours.

$4.25 gallon for regular at Shell 10120 SW Capitol Hwy & SW Huber St., Portland, Oregon 6 hours ago
$4.99 gallon for diesel at 76 7991 SW Capitol Hwy & SW Garden Home Rd 8 hours ago.

Food prices are going to go up even more. Batten down the hatches. I don't know how the truckers are going to make it.

I went & pulled data from the US Energy Information Administration (division of the Department of Energy) and charted historical average diesel prices from clear back to 1994. The data pulled represents average diesel prices taken weekly over several years. The last data point is for 2/12/2012 at $3.94/gallon. I think people wish they were paying $3.94 now VS $4.99

High fuel was what kicked us off the edge in 2008 and we were in "good" shape. Now with these fuel prices .. yikes.. just yikes.

If that was here I would have filled up 3x over.

I have a small "put put" car and can often go about 1 month between fill ups.
I noticed my mid grade equivalent gas go from 3.09 - to 3.69 during this period.
As soon as I get some more gas stabilizer I will fill up my last two gas cans.

For some reason we seemed immune to the price hikes here in Colorado until this week and while I did just have to fill up in the Socialist Republic of Boulder rather than my usual station, the $3.749 was roughly a $0.50/gallon jump over my last fill up around 12 days ago.  I don't think I've ever seen the price climb so fast.

Interesting that the cheapest fuel in the state is in the eastern part where it has to be trucked in more and that it is more expensive the further you go west/closer to the oil terminals. Biggs, Junction, Pilot, Ontario, Milton-Freewater, Hermiston, La Grande, The Dalles are all about the $3.39 regular amount...

and the Portland area is $3.83 average for regular...

The coast on the most west of the state is $3.99 to $4.05 for regular.

Diesel... $4.99 in my area. Lowest is $3.99 in Eugene, but there is no rhyme or reason to the prices at all.. it is not the same pattern as the gasoline.

After checking AAA I must have just hit a bad station Sunday, as it doesn't look like prices spiked all that dramatically.  Obnoxious, but not surprising given that it's Boulder and just about everything about Boulder tends to rub me the wrong way.

Most places here are over $4.
They had an article in the paper about stations charging  an extra $1 per gallon for paying by credit card since there are no regulations on it.

For a pack of gum.

Gas is running 3.60+ around here. Saw a  place for 3.59, but most places it's close to 3.68 or 3.70. Big spread... luckily I'm pushing 40mpg.

My mom had a car wreck in 1972, got out of the hospital early '73. When she went in, gas was under 50 cents a gallon. When she got out it was over a dollar.

talk about sticker shock...
