One station I watch has been $3.69 for a few days.  It dropped to $3.49 yesterday morning so I filled up (I don't go below half tank).  This morning it is $3.79.  I don't know what the deal was.

Are those those ones they were 'fracking' and proven to be causing earthquakes? Out of curiosity Nic, is that what caused yours during your lunch?

Cedar
This is the same thing I asked him. He says fracking would not have caused to earthquacks. I don't know enough about it to say one way or the other.

It has been proven that fracking does cause them.

None of those articles offer proof.   The Huliq article references the Scientific American article which does not conclusively state that the fracking caused the quakes.

"Although LDEO scientists are not saying that the pumping caused the quakes, injection fluids have been implicated in other strike-slip earthquakes close to deep-injection wells." Scientific American

"By triangulating the arrival time of shock waves at the four stations, Armbruster and his colleagues needed only a day or two to determine with 95 percent certainty that the epicenters of the two holiday quakes were within 100 meters of each other, and within 0.8 kilometer of the injection well. The team also determined that the quakes were caused by slippage along a fault at about the same depth as the injection site, almost three kilometers down." Scientific American

"A northeast Ohio well used to dispose of wastewater from oil and gas drilling almost certainly caused a series of 11 minor quakes in the Youngstown area since last spring, a seismologist investigating the quakes said Monday."  Huffington Post

95% sure that the epicenters are close to each other and pretty close to the injection well is not proof.

And the Huffington Post is not reputable. No where in the article is definitive proof cited, just seismologist saying he thought so.

I am not saying you are wrong, just disagreeing with your assessment that it has been proven.

Sorry to hijack the thred.

I don't know if the fracking caused the earth quack. I do know they have been fracking for years and I've never heard of it before this. I worked briefly in the oil fields about 30 years ago. They fracked every well that I know of at that time. There have been thousands of wells drilled since then. Still it's possible I just don't know.

Prices here have jumped 30 cents in the past 3 days. It was $3.59 on Sunday evening, today same station was at $3.89. I'll be heading over to Costco this afternoon to see if they are any better. They usually lag a few days behind the big jumps.

$3.799 here in se ohio. I got $.70 off through my kroger card. Filled my truck and 3 gas cans to get my allowed 35 gal. $108.46. That's nothing short of crazy. I'm showing my age, but when I got my license and started driving in 1972 gas was $.35/gal. That would have cost me $12.25.

I'm pretty sure those discount things are illegal here in MA as there are none of them around. There is one BJ's club that has gasoline at cheaper prices for members but it's too far away for me to make it worth while to fillup there.

Be thankful you don't have a 38 gallon gas tank!  I do, and that's one of the reasons I fill it up once it gets below 3/4 tank.

$3.589 at my small town Murphy (ChinaMart) station, but found a Sam's Club in Houston yesterday running $3.409 for regular unleaded.
