Kinda strange that I'm paying less for premium here in Denver than any of ya'll are paying for regular unleaded right now.

Are you taunting us?   :o

I don't really care, as I take an express bus 25 miles to work and company pays for the transit pass.  I get in a lot of reading and apparently am saving a ton of money on fuel.

+1 Your company pays for your pass... my company pays me not to drive ;D it isn't much, but $4 a day to not drive... I will accept.

About 3.09 (CostCo) - for one grade below standard regular gas - about 85 octane so add 10 cents for the areas that actually have oxygen in the air.   This was about a 30 cent bump sense the last time I had to buy gas.  Too bad I did not rotate my gas last month.

Isn't premium in Colorado the same as Mid-Grade everywhere else?

Didn't go out today but yesterday it was $3.40 for regular at the Mt. Carmel Jct. (UT) Shell. Diesel was $4.10.

Today it was $3.70 for regular and $4.22 for diesel.  >:(

It depends on the station.  Some are 89 octane, most are 91 octane.  Never the less, that only accounts for $0.10/gallon difference.  It seems like somehow we're (Brad and I) isolated from the spike in oil prices that you guys are paying.

I did have to fill up this last tank at a place I normally don't, so that could account for some part of the difference from what I usually pay, but again, not more than about 10 cents difference since it's in the same town.  The only gas they had at the station I went to on Thursday was premium.  All the regular and mid-grade pumps were bagged.  I'm unsure if this was simply a station problem with their USTs, their supplier, or maybe piss-poor inventory management.

In Alaska we are sheltered from rapid fluctuation, but our prices are inflated anyway.  When Texas prices shoot up $0.30 in one day, drop $0.25 the next day, shoot up $0.15 the third day, up $0.10 the fourth day, and drop $0.05 the fifth day, ours will stay the same for 4 days then jump $0.15 on the fifth day.

We have one local refinery in Denver, probably 100% of our oil is domestically produced because it would cost more to bring it in than sell it locally, but still, the price of crude is the price of crude and we really have been insulated from the rise thus far:
11/30-$3.41.9
12/8-$3.50.9
12/20-$3.15.9
12/31-$3.15.9
1/18-$3.21.9
1/30-$3.29.9
2/10-$3.29.9
2/21-$3.35.9
3/1-$3.23.9

It hasn't always been so.  In the summer of 2008 I was paying $4.29/gallon here, just like everyone else.  Heck, even last summer we were close to $4/gallon ($3.83.9 9/4/11, $4.05.9 5/16/11), so I guess I should enjoy it while it lasts.  This time last year I was paying $3.43.9 (3/3/11).

We have small towns and it can be wildly different from place to place. The one's at the same intersections tend to be competitive with each other, within about 2 cents or so. Next town over can also be wildly different. Certain chains and independents are usually the lowest. The big names are always the highest - go figure.

Don't forget that there is a significant state tax on each gallon, some states can easily be 10ยข a gallon different.  (other than Kalifornia, which is really screwy.)

Filled up yesterday. Mid-grade $3.29.   $3.19 with my $0.10 Kroger discount. I wonder why small mountain town in Colorado is so much lower than elsewhere? Doesn't make sense to me.

Wow, our propane is about the same price as regular unleaded.  I filled up for $4.11 yesterday (gas), and I got propane for $4.05 last week.
