Holding at $2.39 the last few days. I saw one place advertising $2.26, you got to watch'em that's a cash price. Places are charge 5 to 10 cents more for any type of card transaction.

Reminder: great map to help you plan where to fill up on long trips. Look at that difference between Arizona/California and Ohio/Pennsylvania!

Congratulations to California, the new #1!  We knew you could do it!

In addition to the highest gas taxes, we tax even HIGHER on diesel ( I drive a Jetta TDI) and I am pretty sure that our gas is a special California "blend" which also costs more, I think this blend is why I thought we had the highest taxes previously

$3.09 at San Berdoo Costco today.

I keep hoping the price of gas will clear out the traffic, but it never does.

Truckers have bitched for years about the high cost out there, and the smog regulations. (Don't get caught with a smokin truck and out of state tags)
A lot of trucking firms won't run west for those reasons.

So we left home base yesterday, with a full tank and a partial tank (dual tanks) and with gas at 2.13, didn't think about topping the tanks off.
We get the hay, do some amish shopping, halfway back and better get gas for this thirsty truck pulling a loaded trailer of hay.
$2.43 at the first town....wow.
So on to the next which was $2.42  ::) Ding. So filled one tank and left, passing the local farmers coop fuel pumps which advertised $2.30.  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
Cruise back through town heading home, and gas here is still 2.13

2.19 at Kroger this morning.

Earlier today I noticed and Exxon advertising $1.99 cash or $2.39 debit/credit. Wonder how much retailers are being charged for card transactions. I always use a card at Kroger.

Used to be 3 cent profit in gas, then the cc's raised their rates to 4 cents per gallon transaction. Our local closed up station said they always lost money on cc cards. Not sure if that still stands true.

Headed south today and needed fuel. Our wanna be fuel stop on the highway was 2.31
Nope, we can get south I think with what we have in the tanks. 30m south and it's 2.19 still

Sunday, we were south a ways and noticed gas there was 2.18
Ok, fast forward to this Tuesday, I take empty cans to town (north) to fill up.
Price.......$2.28  ::) So I go ahead and fill them as I only have cans enough to get 14 extra gallon.
