  • Simple country farm girl. Prepper? What's that?
"Healing Spices" - Bharat B. Aggarwal, PhD

I'm getting into using more spices in cooking after reading the book "Healing Spices" written by a Professor of Experimental Theraputics who worked nearly 25 years with spices at MD Anderson Cancer Center.  It's amazing health info for the prepper, well anyone that wants an edge up on health.

Here's what Amazon says:

"Breakthrough scientific research is finding that spices-even more than herbs, fruits, and vegetables-are loaded with antioxidants and other unique health-enhancing compounds. Studies of dietary patterns around the world confirm that spice-consuming populations have the lowest incidence of such life-threatening illnesses as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's.
Bharat B. Aggarwal, the world's foremost expert on the therapeutic use of culinary spices, takes an in-depth look at 50 different spices and their curative qualities, and offers spice “prescriptions”-categorized by health condition-to match the right spice to a specific ailment."

I've heard this guy on the radio before and he has a fantastic story. After publishing this book a few months ago, the FDA came after him, and his successful program at M.D. Anderson, for promoting "unapproved alternative therapy," so now he has fled the country to avoid arrest.  I guess big Pharma doesn't want us to learn how to live without high-priced patented medicines.

There's a chance this book may be short lived on the market, such a shame for a man's life work at such an accredited research hospital.  Grab it while you can if you are interested.
