9 volt battery hack
« on: March 02, 2009, 04:30:44 PM »
I searched for and didn't see a thread about this here so I apologize if I missed it.  This is a short video on how to convert a 9 volt battery to run your small electronics if you are out of AAA batteries in a pinch.  We opened one up at the fire station a couple of years ago and it worked well although I don't think it would run nearly as long as a true AAA.  Inside a 9 volt, there are six 1.5V AAAA that can be cannibalized.  Enjoy.

Those are actually AAAA batteries, not AAA.  They evidently fit lengthwise, but have a different diameter.  Also, they don't last as long as AAA's would.
