« on: April 15, 2012, 09:04:16 PM »
well here is just a few pics of our garden this year. This does not include the raised beds and the plants growing in pots. I will try to get some photos of those tomorrow.

Thanks its never ending work.. I had to build a fence this weekend to keep my marans out of the raised beds. They where tearing them to shreds. I have a motion sensing water sprinkler on its way so I can take the net fence back down.

Would love to have that much space. What is the purpose of the plastic cups?

I'm betting he has cutworm issues in his area

ncjeeper trust me the photos make the soil look way better then it is. plus it was wet so that makes it look darker.  It really is some pretty sorry land. I am foing what I can to improve it which means lots and lots of compost.

Nicodemus Thankyou.. I'm loven it and cant wait for some squash.

average_joe  Im lucky to have around 3 acres. If I could just put it all to use I would be happier. I try but there is only so much one man can do. Cohutt is right. We have a lot of cut worms around here. I have not had a problem with them but I dont give them a chance. I mean why risk it when some solo cups will keep them at bay.

I understand cars4fun, I know it is a lot of work. You're supposed to rest the soil and leave some fallow too, right?  ;) Picked off a cutworm and a leaf beetle off the raspberry plants last night. Using solo cups to keep them at bay might help in my situation too.

Where are you? I JUST got my spuds in the ground like 4 days ago. Your garden looks great. "Red Sails" lettuce?

I'm in north east texas. Those photos of the garden are a little old now. I have squash that is starting to put on, cucumbers are also. I feel for y'all up north. I put my spuds in the ground the first of Feb. These year has been great I might even try for a fall harvest of potatoes.  Plant around August.  Can't wait for the tomatoes to start producing. I have close to 250 tomato plants in the ground.

Spread looks great.  I'm jealous that you have a good harvest going already.  All I've been able to harvest so far is salad greens and green onions.
