New Zealand gamebird season
« on: May 11, 2012, 09:03:58 PM »
Our duck season opened last weekend. It was pretty poor around my area, and I only managed to bag a Hare (open season all year on them). The lack of ducks is probably due to the weather, we had good water levels through the summer but things really dried out in the Autumn and there just aren't the bird numbers round here there usually is.

This weekend I decided to walk up the stream that goes round my boundary to see if I could jump shoot a few ducks.

Again there weren't many round but I managed to get 2 and had a nice walk as well. The dogs enjoyed it too, the younger one kept getting sidetracked with water-rats, but Biff the older one was useful in retrieving one of the ducks before it floated down the stream.
