For BOV: The Super Siphon

James Yeager pulled me aside yesterday and showed this to me.  I was really impressed by it, despite such simple construction.

The copper end goes into the tank you are siphoning from.  You don't have to do any blowing, etc.  All you have to do is push it in, pull it out 3 or 4 times and the gas will flow.  It has a glass marble in the copper end that opens and closes the valve on that end.  Also, since the copper end is heavier, it makes keeping it at the bottom of the tank easier.

It's pretty easy to attach it to a gas can with a zip tie or some paracord.

AND, at 2 for $16.95...how can you beat that?

John Willis mentions this here, but I thought it deserved its own thread now that I've seen it...

From personal experience, these devices work FLAWLESSLY! We use them on at my inlaws lake house..... Transfering gas from tanks to waverunners and the boat..... it even works with the gas can below the tanks, you just have to keep shaking the hose until it starts to flow..... once it starts its going unless you lift the hose out of the fuel

That's how they work???  I've seen these around, but thought it required the possibility of me inhaling some gas while sucking.  Definitely gonna have to buy one.

Yeah just keep the copper end in the gas and shake it up and down a few times and your good once you see it flowing.

Don't most/all new (after 1990 I think) cars have an anti-siphon flap? How does this work on those, or does it?

Cheaper than eBay? That's a buy. Thanks for highlighting the product!

Chris, Yes most do, but it's pretty much just a piece of screen, It can be broken/pushed through if need be.

John Willis turned me onto them for the NATO fuel cans. The clamp-on spouts aren't very good. The Super Siphon is a GREAT way to top off your vehicle from a can. They are really quick and easy and NO MORE GAS MOUTHWASH!
